Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team and support a diverse portfolio of entities.
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of multiple community association and property management clients. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with experience managing a multi-entity portfolio and a strong understanding of property management accounting practices.
The successful candidate will be proficient in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. Experience with Vantaca accounting software is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for a portfolio of multiple entities and community associations.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
- Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
- Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger integrity.
- Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and budget processes.
- Monitor reserve accounts and ensure proper financial reporting of restricted funds.
- Collaborate with community managers, leadership teams, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and industry best practices.
- Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to accounting efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience managing accounting functions for multiple entities, properties, or association portfolios.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Property management, HOA, community association, or real estate accounting experience.
- Hands-on experience with Vantaca Accounting Software.
- Experience with portfolio accounting and multi-entity financial reporting.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
